Cigar Smoking in a Cigar Lounge

Up until recently, I had never been to a cigar lounge. My cigar smoking consisted of lighting one up with a beer or drink on the weekend after doing some grilling. Recently, I was taking a stroll with the old lady after dinner at a Bonefish Grill restaurant (the one located out west in Tamiami Trail) here in Miami and as we walked down the shopping center we saw a cigar lounge-cigar store.

From the moment you walk into any cigar lounge, you then realize that there is a huge difference with what most call cigar smell, we cigar aficionados accurately call cigar aroma.

The place was really cool, for lack of a better word. The owner greeted us as soon as we came in and let us look around for a bit without hounding us. The cigar bar also served wine and beer and there was a huge walk-in humidor. I can’t remember the name of this place, but it was a real treat considering it was in the middle of a shopping center. I bought myself a Macanudo and proceeded to sit down in over-sized chairs while watching a football game on a wide screen.
Some tips on smoking a cigar at a cigar lounge:

  • Buy your cigar there
  • Bring your own only if your a member
  • Cigarettes shouldn’t really be smoked in a cigar lounge

Remember above all the owner is there to make money.
