Today, I was out doing my usual run, which I do about twice a week for a distance of about 2-3 miles. Initially, I was thinking of putting this post in a “fitness” section of this site. But, the more I thought about it, the less it seemed like a fitness story and more of a motivational one. Toward the end of my run, I usually cool down by walking the last 2-3 blocks until I reach my house. I do this because it is important to cool down after running, but also, because by this time I am spent.

As luck would have it, I was running past a home, where like many other homes, barking dogs run up and down the fence, usually behind it. However, this time, the barking didn’t cease and when I looked back, a small dog was chasing me. Instead of stopping and walking at a normal pace, so that the dog wouldn’t chase me or bite me, I decided to try and outrun it.
